Drug Shortages

Drug shortages and backorders are on the increase.  Patients, physicians and hospitals each day are finding it more and more difficult to find medications that were once easily accessed.  Materials shortages, low profit margins and an inability of generic suppliers to fill gaps in supply are all contributing to the problem. Many of these shortages are affecting the most vulnerable - the cancer patient. According to the New York Times, there were 58 drug shortages in 2004, while in 2011 there have been 211.*

Pharmacy Creations has the resources, the skill, the knowledge and the equipment to help you cope with the drug shortage problem and bridge the gap until the commercial product is back on the market.  From simple creams and ointments, to capsules, and complex sterile injections we can source the active ingredient, formulate the preparation and compound whatever you need for your patient, office or facility.

Hospital administrators can be confident in working with Pharmacy Creations since we adhere to the highest standards of USP chapters <795>, <797> and PCAB - Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board.  Also, the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacist's (ASHP) evaluation tool,  'Outsourcing Sterile Products Preparation: Contractor Assessment Tool' rates Pharmacy Creations with a score of 396 in a possible score of 412, considered by ASHP to be excellent.
